Still Life after Death

Still Life after Death

Oil on Canvas. 36"X48". This is a small section of a much larger oil painting. The subject of this area, is a study of a 1890's painting by William Harnett. In my teens I experienced several deaths in my family. This made me aware of the frailty of human life at an early age. Experiencing the deaths of loved ones also lead me to study life after death, my spirituality and religion. This piece echoes my explorations as I searched in my own ways for an understanding the ultimate questions. Why am I here? And what happens next?
